Well, that was quite a spring break. Hazel and I had been planning on taking a road trip to southern California to meet with various peoples to plan for the wedding, but about halfway there, we decided the hell with it, we're sick and tired of all this planning, so we turned left, diverted our course towards Las Vegas, stopped at the first chapel we found, and got hitched. Elvis impersonator and everything.

Whoo. It's been an interesting few days.

Now, back to classes.

UPDATE: Yeah, yeah, April Fools, y'all.

Hahaha, if I didn't know Gretl so well, I might've believed you. But the idea that she'd have passed up beautiful clothing, wonderful food, a heartfelt ceremony, and the congratulations of friends and family? NEVER! ;-)

And a Happy April first to you too. :)

Nonetheless, there is some merit in eloping. You'll probably consider it seriously at least once before the ceremony.

And miss out on music, dancing, friends, family, black & white cake with raspberry jam and chocolate ganache, teriyaki chicken sandwiches, sundried tomato wraps, beef rolls, circus peanuts, fried hummingbird tongues, AND seeing Hazel in an elven princess wedding dress? No, thank you--I'll be there!

Besides, my hometown CotB is WAY better than ANY chapel in Las Vegas, and the minister is a good deal more philosophical than Elvis. Or at least more philosophical than Elvis impersonators. So there.

I'd offer congratulations, but I'm sure you're not serious. Happy High Holy Day for the Campus Crusade for Chaos and Confusion!

And the moral of the story is: always read the existing comments before posting one of your own, no matter how excited you are. ;-P

Already got hit by an April Fools, so this didn't catch.

Good one, though. And congrats on the love you & Hazel share. I totally emphasize with that "you know, screw the planning and stress let's just elope"

Preface: LIAR! :o)

Giggle! Did you dress up as Elvis too? Hazel WOULD make a good Priscilla with the huge, black beehive! Actually, I think you'd be a good Sulley (from Monsters, Inc.). Hazel, she'd be a wonderful Boo. Wouldn't that be a cute wedding? Except that Boo and Sulley had more of a kid-babysitter relationship. Ooh, Hazel in Catholic Schoolgirl outfit and Barnabas in full Cardinal garb. hee-hee . . .

Okay, who would pay to see that pair!

I can't do THAT! It might hurt my campaign for papacy!

Yes, for those of you who haven't heard, I have announced my candidacy for the office of pope. Cantor says that there's no greatest cardinal, so I'm going to prove him wrong by becoming it.

What if we said our vows whilst bungee-jumping off the side of the Braun Llama Dome together?

Much better to do the kiss, then bungee jump. THAT would be awesome. Think about it. Instead of "And you may now kiss the bride," the minister could say, "You may now plummet off the dome."

A word of explanation for those of you who Don't Get It:

In SimCity2000, one of the buildings (a reward for reaching a population of 90,000) is a monument called the Braun Llama Dome. Think Seattle Space Needle perched on top of Eiffel Tower.

If you click on any building with the "Get Info" tool, a list of yearly statistics comes up for that building. The statistics for the Braun Llama Dome include "Number of Weddings" and "Number of Bungee Jumps"...
...which are always the same number.

*sigh* I was just trying to be funny... No need to be grumpy. :( I'll go away now.

Not grumpy, just explaining. Also that reminded me that I hadn't played SimCity2000 in a long time, so I tried it out again, and realized that I'm much better at it now than I used to be (in the old days I could never get about 15,000 population; this time I got 141,000 at one point!). But then just as I finally installed the coveted Braun Llama Dome on my own private island just off the coast, a huge earthquake hit, and the resulting fires wiped out two-thirds of my city. Then, when I finally had the fires put out and was starting to rebuild, the game crashed, and I lost everything. Bah. Now I'm grumpy. Let that be a lesson to me: save game early and save game often.
