On Ignorance

I don't feel a burning desire for vengeance.
I don't wish premature death or even horrible physical suffering on these miscreants. I have a feeling Matt wouldn't either. The tragic outcome of their actions was, as best I can tell, due to ignorance and stupidity rather than any sort of malice. That doesn't make it hurt any less.
What I do want is for them to know exactly what they've done. I want them to know what an amazing guy they killed, how many friends he had, how well he was loved, what incredible potential they ended that night.
I want them to live long, healthy, normal lives, haunted forever by a full understanding of the loss they inflicted on all of us.

Sometimes I feel that I am incapable of harboring malice towards another human. Is this something I should be worried about?
